My crafty items this weekend

Here are my 2 crafty items I have made this weekend so far, hopefully by the end of the day there may be more to add.
They are both altered canvasses, the first (music themed) I did for my youngest daughter she is mad on music. She plays piano and is soon to be sitting her Grade 4 exam and in the past year she has self taught herself to play guitar just by watching youtube for tips. She sings also, so you can imagine when she is around the house is never quiet lol. I had a very large canvas board in my stash but it was a bit large so I cut a piece off it (very carefully) using a craft knife, and decorated it with a music based quote as the inspiration.
The second is made using the offcut piece of canvas board.

Happy New Year all, I am disgusted with myself at how much I have neglected my blog in the past months, should I make the New Year resolution to attend to it more or will that be a wasted effort like many resolutions of the past??? lol we shall see :S

I had a quiet Christmas which was nice. I felt like I was turning into a sloth by the end of 2 weeks tho and have to say it is nice to get into a routine again.

Craft wise I have suffered a bit of a dry spell, will only a few altered projects completed. I hate it when your mojo runs off and leaves you. I have done better this weekend so far, so hopefully the drought is over lol. I have moved my craft stuff into Iona's bedroom since she is at university and not at home all the time, I didnt see much point in the room being totally unused, much to her disgust. I have tried to do it subtly tho, one of her bookcases still has her favourite novels in, the other has my craft stuff. I have comandeered half the built-in wardrobe space :S and I have a corner of the wall space round about my bookcase which has crafty wall art. I wonder how many of you think I am a mean mother lol

I have another tattoo being drawn up and hope to get it shortly.

Anyway this is a late nighter for me and must get my head down, kinda wish I could hibernate as I hate winter with a passion. I wonder if I could fatten myself up enough for next winter for that to be successful. Hedgehogs def have the right idea

Arrrggghh!!!

Yikes, it has been months since i did any blogging, hmmm where to start???
Well, I cut my hours at work before the summer as I wasnt feeling the best so I finish up at 1pm everyday which is great as it gives me the afternoon to either get housework done or just to chill out.
Summer here was a bit of a wash out really, my veg were pretty pathetic, but I got another couple of beds made, one with just herbs in it and did get a fair bit of sorting out done ie hacking back of trees n bushes.
I went to Norway for a week to visit Vikkie and her hubby again which was lovely and relaxing and then a couple of day after getting back Vikk came across to me and we spent a fab few days between Blackpool and her folks. She took me to my very first "proper" car boot sale which was awesome and we picked up quite a few bargains. We had a great laugh and the weather was good for us too.
Iona has started university in the city so I am only seeing her at weekends when she has nothing organised in Aberdeen. It is very strange not having her at home all the time, but on the up side I am making use of her bedroom for crafting when she isnt at home, the house is bit cleaner AND I actually have food in the fridge at the end of a week lol. Isla is missing her tho :(
Isla is in the process of organising a Halloween party for a few of her friends so I have went a bit mad buying decorations. I cant wait for that as I am gonna have fun decorating the house :D Sad I know but I just love decorating for parties :)
Crafting wise I aint been up to much of late, will probably get more into it as the weather get worse.
Anyway enough of my waffling

Where does the time fly to??

Wow I have been really bad at keeping this blog up to date :( couldnt believe when I came on it has been a month since I was here last.
May has pretty much been a wash out here up till this past weekend (the weather has been gorgeous since) but finally I am getting stuff done in the garden again and my veg are starting to make an appearance, I was frankly giving up hope of seeing any results this year.
Crafting wise I have finished all my birdhouses, I am getting back into making captured fairies and am trying to make a couple of junk journals, one of which is for a swap (it is funny when you KNOW you HAVE to make something it doesnt come as easy.)
I have been looking after my neighbour's chickens for three weeks while they have been away on holiday so that has been fun :S kinda sick seeing eggs tho lol
Anyway I must get out of bed and start the morning routine I guess.
I will try harder with the blog :S

Hey Everyone, Well that is the end of my 2nd week back to work after the hols and all in all I feel quite good.   The alteration to my working hours for my health seems to be working out just great.   It has basically been raining everyday so I have gotten the chance to sit and relax crafting every afternoon so I have had a fab time.   Do wish the sun would appear tho as do feel I need some sun and cant wait to get out to the garden :)

End of the holidays :(

Oh well this is the last day of the holidays, back to work tomorrow. I have had a lovely relaxing couple of weeks tho and feel pretty refreshed for going back to school.
The beginning of this week I spent most of it in the garden. I got some veg planted up - peas, mange tout, rocket, cauliflower and red cabbage. I have parsnips to plant too and courgettes but the weather mid week put paid to my gardening efforts. It has been really cold and wet again, there was actually a shower or 2 of hail yesterday :( With the new work schedule of mine of just working 9 - 1 tho I will hopefully be able to take full advantage of any nice afternoons we have from now on.
On a brighter note the yuk weather has seen me crafting hard. I have made lots of altered birdhouses and I am excited as I now have a youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/faeriecrafts?feature=mhee so please stop by and have a look. I apologise in advance for my extremely broad accent lol, but I have tried very hard to keep my North East of Scotland isms to a minimum.
Anyway I am away to do some more crafting as the weather aint much better today again.

Home again

Its been a while yet again...... anyway I am back from a relaxing weeks holiday in Norway visiting Vikkie.  Most of the week the shops were shut for easter but we did manage one trip to the craft store and bought lots of stuff (mainly stuff for stick pins and charms - Vikkie got some beautiful stick pins from Fiona (jennings644 on youtube) so I was desperate to make some of my own lol.
It was a crafty week, which I enjoyed immensely ...... I altered a photo frame, a box, made butterflies out of flowers, a little 4 x 4 album, an acetate butterfly (inspired by jennings644 on youtube), helped Vikk with a couple of junk journals (my job was inking and stamping) and the last day I was drawing (the first real art work I have done in ages).
Then we spent an afternoon rearranging Vikkies craft room, which was fun. Vikkie also set up a youtube account for me as I have been toying with doing my own videos, I will be using the same name as my blog so watch this space lol.
All in all I had a lovely week and cant thank Vikkie n Pete enough for having me yet again, love them both.
I shall put up some pics of finished projects once I have uploaded them.
