Arrrggghh!!!

Yikes, it has been months since i did any blogging, hmmm where to start???
Well, I cut my hours at work before the summer as I wasnt feeling the best so I finish up at 1pm everyday which is great as it gives me the afternoon to either get housework done or just to chill out.
Summer here was a bit of a wash out really, my veg were pretty pathetic, but I got another couple of beds made, one with just herbs in it and did get a fair bit of sorting out done ie hacking back of trees n bushes.
I went to Norway for a week to visit Vikkie and her hubby again which was lovely and relaxing and then a couple of day after getting back Vikk came across to me and we spent a fab few days between Blackpool and her folks. She took me to my very first "proper" car boot sale which was awesome and we picked up quite a few bargains. We had a great laugh and the weather was good for us too.
Iona has started university in the city so I am only seeing her at weekends when she has nothing organised in Aberdeen. It is very strange not having her at home all the time, but on the up side I am making use of her bedroom for crafting when she isnt at home, the house is bit cleaner AND I actually have food in the fridge at the end of a week lol. Isla is missing her tho :(
Isla is in the process of organising a Halloween party for a few of her friends so I have went a bit mad buying decorations. I cant wait for that as I am gonna have fun decorating the house :D Sad I know but I just love decorating for parties :)
Crafting wise I aint been up to much of late, will probably get more into it as the weather get worse.
Anyway enough of my waffling

Where does the time fly to??

Wow I have been really bad at keeping this blog up to date :( couldnt believe when I came on it has been a month since I was here last.
May has pretty much been a wash out here up till this past weekend (the weather has been gorgeous since) but finally I am getting stuff done in the garden again and my veg are starting to make an appearance, I was frankly giving up hope of seeing any results this year.
Crafting wise I have finished all my birdhouses, I am getting back into making captured fairies and am trying to make a couple of junk journals, one of which is for a swap (it is funny when you KNOW you HAVE to make something it doesnt come as easy.)
I have been looking after my neighbour's chickens for three weeks while they have been away on holiday so that has been fun :S kinda sick seeing eggs tho lol
Anyway I must get out of bed and start the morning routine I guess.
I will try harder with the blog :S

Hey Everyone, Well that is the end of my 2nd week back to work after the hols and all in all I feel quite good.   The alteration to my working hours for my health seems to be working out just great.   It has basically been raining everyday so I have gotten the chance to sit and relax crafting every afternoon so I have had a fab time.   Do wish the sun would appear tho as do feel I need some sun and cant wait to get out to the garden :)

End of the holidays :(

Oh well this is the last day of the holidays, back to work tomorrow. I have had a lovely relaxing couple of weeks tho and feel pretty refreshed for going back to school.
The beginning of this week I spent most of it in the garden. I got some veg planted up - peas, mange tout, rocket, cauliflower and red cabbage. I have parsnips to plant too and courgettes but the weather mid week put paid to my gardening efforts. It has been really cold and wet again, there was actually a shower or 2 of hail yesterday :( With the new work schedule of mine of just working 9 - 1 tho I will hopefully be able to take full advantage of any nice afternoons we have from now on.
On a brighter note the yuk weather has seen me crafting hard. I have made lots of altered birdhouses and I am excited as I now have a youtube channel http://www.youtube.com/user/faeriecrafts?feature=mhee so please stop by and have a look. I apologise in advance for my extremely broad accent lol, but I have tried very hard to keep my North East of Scotland isms to a minimum.
Anyway I am away to do some more crafting as the weather aint much better today again.

Home again

Its been a while yet again...... anyway I am back from a relaxing weeks holiday in Norway visiting Vikkie.  Most of the week the shops were shut for easter but we did manage one trip to the craft store and bought lots of stuff (mainly stuff for stick pins and charms - Vikkie got some beautiful stick pins from Fiona (jennings644 on youtube) so I was desperate to make some of my own lol.
It was a crafty week, which I enjoyed immensely ...... I altered a photo frame, a box, made butterflies out of flowers, a little 4 x 4 album, an acetate butterfly (inspired by jennings644 on youtube), helped Vikk with a couple of junk journals (my job was inking and stamping) and the last day I was drawing (the first real art work I have done in ages).
Then we spent an afternoon rearranging Vikkies craft room, which was fun. Vikkie also set up a youtube account for me as I have been toying with doing my own videos, I will be using the same name as my blog so watch this space lol.
All in all I had a lovely week and cant thank Vikkie n Pete enough for having me yet again, love them both.
I shall put up some pics of finished projects once I have uploaded them.

WooHoo soon be the hols :)

Good grief it has been a week since I posted AGAIN!!! I have no idea where the days are going just now.
I am getting excited as I go to visit Vikkie next week in Norway and I cant wait. We are hoping to do lots of crafting and maybe a bit of shopping, but either way it is gonna be a chill out week as both of us are in need of a rest and putting our feet up for a while.
Crafty wise I have altered another birdhouse, I think I am addicted!!! I have even ordered more of them. Seriously considering trying to sell some of them tho as I really cant have them all in my house lol. I have made a pin cushion out of a little wooden box and altered a small chipboard box too. I have started my second junk journal this week although I still aint totally comfortable making them yet for some reason (possibly not tidy enough for my slight OCD tendancies to handle lol)
I ordered a heap of steampunk type charms n bits n bobs today not sure what I am gonna use them for but I just really fancied them.
Anyway almost bed time so I will post a few pics at the end.

Where has the week gone again :S

Well I have had a pretty busy week this week, mostly involving the garden, which is now starting to look a bit more respectable. Still got a bit to do and the veg patch has to get planted up but at least most of the weeding is done now. I finally painted the last bit of tree on the faerie mural me and the girls started last summer. The bottom bit of the tree was behind a bush and I couldnt get it finished because of the leaves n twigs. As it is just starting to bud again I thought I better get a wriggle on and finish it.
Crafty wise I have been pretty quiet. I did have a go at making a pin cushion out of a little wooden box and made a mothers day card for my mumsy but other than that I aint done much.
It was Mothers Day yesterday and I had a pretty nice day. I spent the morning in the garden pottering in the sunshine. Then had a quiet afternoon as the kids went out on their bikes then our neighbour came over for a BBQ in the evening (her hubby is away for a month so I didnt want her sitting alone with her kids on Mothers Day)
Anyway that is enough of my ramblings tonight, I am gonna go read for a while.

First uncrafty day in a week :(

Well it is official today, I am only working 9am till 1am (well at least till the summer hols anyway).  As I have not been feeling the best lately I came to the decision to bite the bullet and ask for reduced hours at work as I was feeling it was a struggle to have any quality home time as I was trying to juggle work, housework and the garden and failing pretty much with all of the above and getting myself stressed out about it.   This way I am only losing 5 hours off my total hours yet still have the whole afternoon to myself which is working out great so far.   As I said I have made the decision to do half an hour to an hour in the garden everyday so I can keep on top of stuff there, then spend a short time doing a bit of housework and then I have still time to sit and relax crafting for a while too before it is time to cook.   This way I am hoping that weekends can be spent doing things I WANT to do not the things I HAVE to do.  It was a lovely day today so this afternoon I was out the garden doing a bit more of the much needed weeding.   I have been crafting of an evening but I had to go out tonight so I guess the crafting will just have to wait till tomorrow. The only thing I started this afternoon was trying to make a paper mache mask using a thin plastic mask as a molde, I will keep you posted on how that goes.  Hopefully tomorrows post will be more interesting than todays lol

Monday again

I have no idea where the weekends go. I had a nice relaxing weekend, I did a bit more of the garden which is good as it is starting to look a bit tidier now thank goodness and I even planted some peas.   I have to start thinking about what other veg I am gonna plant this year.    There will definately be parsnips as they grow really well for me.   Other than that I aint given it much thought yet.
I have just been clearing out my cupboard and having a look to see what I have that I can alter.   I have found a dress form that Vikkie gave me ages ago, but it kinda scares me lol as I dont have the foggiest what to do with it - any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I found a little suitcase yesterday which I altered and I really enjoyed doing that, just wish I had a few more of them and as I am onto my last birdhouse I am gonna have to find some more things to do.   I also need to buy some more acrylic paints as at the minute I am using Isla's (my youngest) cast offs and half tubes.
I shall attached the pic of the suitcase for you all to have a look at and hopefully I will get something done this evening that I can put up tomorrow

Hmmm what will today hold??

Well another morning and up till now the sun is shining although living in the North East of Scotland that means nothing.   We can have a taste of all the seasons within the space of a morning sometimes lol

Crafted last night again, just to keep my hands busy really so I altered another birdhouse.   I have only one left now but I am thinking I will have to buy some more, mind you I aint sure what the heck I am gonna do with them all, only so many you can display :P

If the weather stays nice I will go out to the garden for a while.   I have made a promise to myself that I MUST do an hour out there everyday, just so I can keep on top of everything.  That way I aint knocking myself out for hours on end and not able to do anything for days afterwards.   (So many promises to keep to myself just now :O but I know I can do it)

I have a couple of swaps I have to parcel up and get posted tomorrow so I will do that today too.

Oh here is the birdhouse I altered last nite, I like the darker one better I think and oh I did try the crackle glaze AGAIN and AGAIN it failed miserably :(

Another month nearly past since I blogged and it aint been a good one :(

Hey guys,
Seems terrible to come on here n moan but hopefully it will be kinda cleansing to offload to no-one in particular. I aint had a good month since my lovely week the last time I blogged. Most of it self inflicted I have to say but a small amount down to health issues.
Anyway I have found this quote that I now have beside my bed so I can look at it every morning, infact todays crafting might be to make a pretty plaque or something to have it on so it can be a permanent fixture and hopefully it will be a reminder to me of how bad things have gotten of late through my own stupidity.
The quote reads - "SOMETIMES THE BEST THING YOU CAN DO IS NOT THINK, NOT WONDER, NOT IMAGINE, NOT OBSESS.   JUST BREATHE AND HAVE FAITH THAT EVERYTHING WILL WORK OUT FOR THE BEST"

I have come so close this week to losing the most precious friendship I could possibly have and I think this quote sums up a lot of what I have been doing.  I am not proud of myself and how I have been behaving and I am well aware that changes have to be made and hopefully having this to waken up to everyday will help that and climbing back onto the wagon again regards my intake of alcohol which had fallen by the wayside in the past few months and especially in the past couple of weeks and was making things a hundred times worse.

Anyway enough of my problems, I might be back later with some crafty pics to upload

Well here is my afternoons work, an altered bird house. I am quite happy with it, although it wasn't quite what I intended to begin with. It started off me trying to crackle glaze it with PVA but it just wasnt happening for me and after a couple of failed attempts I eventually gave up n scraped most of it off and just went with the shabby distressed look lol
I have another couple so I might do another one in a different style tonight. No crackling for me tho I will leave it to the experts :S

Doesnt time fly :S

Eek doesn't time fly??? I cant believe it has been so long since I posted on here. The New Year has come and gone and I have had yet another birthday. Not been up to a huge amount. Done a fair bit of crafting of various kinds. Been trying to get back into 12 x 12 pages as I have gotten a bit bored of minis although I have made a few using paper bags after Vikkie n me found in a craft shop in Norway while I was over in october. She also sent me some as part of my Christmas pressie, which should keep me going for a while.
Just had a long weekend off school for mid term and spent it with Vikkie (who flew across) and my girls. It was hectic but lots of fun. Me n Vikk went to visit her mum n dad for a day or so then back up to mine for Ionas prom, then a day in Edinburgh. We went to the Edinburgh Dungeons which was the usual laugh. Dunno how many folk Iona managed to scare with her screaming lol. Iona is convinced I am having a midlife crisis and I dont think she approves of me wholly at the moment. I got ANOTHER tattoo in October on most of my upper arm. I dyed my hair red when Vikkie was here AND got the top of my ear pierced. I am thinking very carefully about what to get for my next tattoo as I am getting the rest of the area across my shoulders done next.
I am heading off to Norway again soon to spend a week with Vikkie and cant wait. After this manic long weekend the plan is to pretty much veg out, except perhaps a bit of shopping :)
Anyway best go head to bed, aint getting the long lie I had hoped for tomorrow and have lots to do.
